HOME Gala cancelation notice

Dear Guests, Benefactors & Loyal supporters of the homeless community;

It is with regret that we must inform you that in the interest of caution, not to foster the spread of this challenging virus being coped with and our concern for everyone’s well-being, that the Board of Trustees of HOME has decided to postpone our inaugural “Help the Homeless” Gala initially scheduled for March 28, 2020. Monies that have been received to date will be returned provided you instruct us to do so, rather than apply to our programs and for your attendance at next year’s Gala.

We are all aware of the harmful impact that Covid-19 is having on our community and the world we live in. We must, therefore, respect the advice of health professionals who advise against holding large events where people will be in close proximity.  

While we acknowledge that our decision to cancel the Gala is intended for the health and safety of all of us, this places our organization in a financially strained position.  As the event was to be the prime fundraiser for our homeless clients, without the Gala’s anticipated income, HOME will be unable to adequately meet their needs for this current year.  

Please help us serve the homeless community in our area during these desperate times by prayerfully considering a donation to HOME.  While you will not be wined, dined, and entertained as we had planned, you can be assured that your contribution will have a positive impact on people’s lives.
